Beyond the standard machine
Not every welding application fits a standard machine. From the modular system of Herrmann Ultraschall, Plastima assembles combinations that slot easily into existing production processes — from a handheld welder for prototypes to a fully integrated punching and sealing system.
Even for the most demanding applications these combinations deliver a controlled weld process and a consistent result.
MPW – punching and sealing in one step
![]() |
The ultrasonic punching and sealing system MPW (Modular Punch Welding) punches and seals membranes in a single production step at an operating frequency of 35 kHz. Expensive pre-cut membranes are no longer needed. The system is particularly suited to membranes that are welded into plastic components as pressure balancing elements (PBE). The MPW combines four automated functions: punching the membrane from the tape, fixing by vacuum, sealing with ultrasonics and cycling the tape onward. Available as a manual work station (MPW BT) or as an integration solution for automation lines (MPW IS). Technical features:

HSG – handheld ultrasonic welder
![]() |
The simplest way to weld thermoplastics with ultrasonics is a portable handheld welder. The HSG suits prototype building, one-offs, low volume production and repairs — whether spot welding, reshaping, staking or cutting. Its ergonomic design and low weight allow fatigue-free work. The DYNAMIC digital control 1000 M generator with time, energy and power switch-off minimises handling variation and delivers repeatable weld results. Welder and sonotrode are stored safely in the HSG MobileCase. Technical features:

Component sets for packaging machines
![]() |
Component sets are the basis for integrating ultrasonics into packaging systems. They are standardised tool combinations of sonotrode and anvil, optimised for the specific sealing application and tried and tested in the market many times. The components are installed in the sealing station of the packaging machine via clearly defined interfaces. Herrmann Ultraschall supports the route from first sketch to start-up; Plastima handles coordination and service in the Benelux. Technical features:
